About Dedicated Addresses
Coinsflow allows you to create dedicated addresses that are forever connected to your balance (these wallets will never be leased to any other merchant) and are used to deposit assets. These addresses are used solely to receive funds and you can't use them, directly, to execute payouts or exchanges.
While a temporary address can be connected to your balance for a specific amount of time (30 minutes) and is intended for a specific operation, the dedicated address stays connected to your balance forever and at all times.
The dedicated address creation is a functionality that is only available upon request and authorization, since it requires a special agreement.
Create a Dedicated Address
Dedicated addresses are created via an API endpoint (see the endpoint information below).
Alternatively, you can also create them directly via the Merchant Portal (click here, to know more).
The dedicated address creation endpoint requires the following parameters:
- Asset: The asset ID is required to identify the asset accepted by the dedicated address.
- Unique: If set to "true" forces each created address to always be unique. By default is "false" and address creation follows the rules outlined bellow in "Wallet Address Scenarios".
- Name: This is an optional parameter of type string that can be used to additionally identify the created wallet with whatever internal name you chose to give it.
Keep in mind that the address is not unique. Only the combination of the Address and asset is unique. The same address with a different asset can be connected to a different balance.
Wallet Address Scenarios
The dedicated address you receive depends on whether you already have one for the same asset and network:
-
If you request 2 dedicated addresses in a row, for different assets that belong to the same network (ETH and USDC, on the ETH chain, for example), the same address can be provided, since the assets are from the same network and only the combination of the address and the asset is unique.
-
If you request 2 dedicated addresses, for different assets that belong in different networks (ETH and BTC, for example), 2 addresses are provided, since the assets are from different networks.
Dedicated Address Funds
When a customer sends funds to your dedicated address, the funds are displayed on the Portal as part of your global balance.
While you can't access the funds on the dedicated address directly and use them to execute a payout or exchange them, you can execute such operations on your balance, as normal.
All funds received to your dedicated addresses are displayed in the operation logs and your balance history.
Callbacks
The standard callbacks are sent to the configured callback URL after any deposit to the dedicated address.
You can check the combination of the address and the asset to see which client made the actual deposit.
